Every village seems to have that one house at the center of it all, that house on the main town square that is a focal point. Yorktown 1750 is that house in the wonderful village of Le Bar-sur-Loup.
Experience the charm of historic France in our beautifully restored 1750 home located in southern France. Offering a unique and immersive vacation experience for discerning travelers.
The core of our house was constructed in 1750. By the "core" I mean the section of the house to the left with the series of three windows across. We believe the kitchen was also built sitting to the right of the house. The floors above the kitchen were added later (perhaps late 1800's). We are still researching the house history.
On September 5, 1781, de Grasse's fleet blocked a British squadron from coming to the aid of Cornwallis, leaving the British force cut off from Royal Navy assistance. The American and French armies arrived soon after, beginning the climactic siege of Yorktown.

The house sits at the intersection of Avenue de Yorktown and Place de la Tour in the charming town of Le Bar-sur-Loup. So, what is the connection with the pivotal battle of the American Revolution (Yorktown)? Admiral de Grasse was born in the chateau just across the town square. De Grasse commanded the French fleet in Chesapeake Bay.

Every village seems to have that one house at the center of it all, that house on the main town square that is a focal point. Yorktown 1750 is that house.
Carefully restored with a combination of mid century modern / provincial but updated with all the modern amenities. We made sure to keep the original feel and soul of the house with careful design, craftsmen, and local tile used in the region for centuries.
Built on a rocky outcrop between Grasse and Vence and dominating the middle reaches of the Loup valley, Bar-sur-Loup was a large defensive village in the Middle Ages, which has retained some of its ramparts and the imposing castle. Close to many more famous tourist packed towns, but we escape the crowds and keep all the same views.
The Côte d'Azur, also known as the French Riviera, is a Mediterranean coastal region in southeastern France, renowned for its sunny climate, stunning scenery, and glamorous resorts. It's a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors with its beaches, charming towns, and luxurious lifestyle.
